His name Is Eric Alan McIntosh SSG/USMC. He was born March 9, 1977 in Indianapolis, In. to Elizabeth A. McIntosh and the late Carlos V. McIntosh. He graduated from Penn Trafford High School in 1995. After graduation he joined the USMC in 1996. While stationed in Quantico, Va he met his future wife Cynthia, whom he married four years later. Transitioning from QUANTICO TO 3/2 HE WENT TO mARINE cORPS sCOUT sNIPER sCHOOL, graduated and became a S/S Team Leader. After a successful tour, he was appointed to an intsrutor billet at the 2nd Marine Division Scout Sniper School. During his tour at Stone Bay, he distinguished himself as an exemplary instructor and an innovator in the art of scout sniping. In 2004 he was ordered to 3/8, Scout/Sniper Plt. as Plt Sgt. Once again he proved himself as an outstanding leader. During a combat tour in Fallujah, Iraq, he further distinquished himself by bringing every one of his Marines home alive. After returning home from Iraq, he became a Plt Sgt for K Comapany 3/8 because he felt his leadership and infantry skills would help save Mrines lives. After personally overseeing his squads and squad leader's development over months of training, they deployed to Ramadi, Iraq. On Sunday, April 02, 2006, while conducting a combat patrol SSG. McIntosh couragageously gave his life for the ideals that all humanity holds so dear. Eric was a special person that touched everyone he met. He was the life of the party and the man to lean on when times got tough. Never allowing anyone to compromise his beliefs he stood as the rock that never faltered. Eric was a friend to all. He picked you up when you were down, made you laugh when needed, gave advice that was wise and always provided a shoulder to cry on. He was a loving son, brother, husband and friend. He will be missed throughout the rest of all of our lives.
