2006EN2 (EOD) Edward Austin Koth, born 27 June 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland.
He joined the Navy in August 1999. He attended Basic Underwater Demolition (BUDS) training and afterwards was assigned Naval Special Clearance Team ONE. There he volunteered for Explosive Ordnance Disposal training and departed for EOD school in November 2003. He graduated from EOD School in December 2004 and was assigned to EODMU EIGHT, Sigonella, Sicily. While assigned, he deployed to Camp Liberty, Iraq with Detachment EIGHT ISO Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. During EN2 Koth’s tenure in the Navy, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon, Pistol Sharpshooter Ribbon and Naval Parachutist Insignia. EN2 Koth is survived by his mother and father, Gerald and Kathleen Koth, Two sisters Chrissy and Jennifer, Brother Theodor and fiancéAlison. |
