Savannah- Seth Elton Hendrix, 19, died October 7th, 2007 due to smoke inhalation from a fire sustained in his home.
He was on the Football, Rifle, and Lacrosse teams. After graduating high school, Seth married his high school sweetheart, Laura, on June 1st, 2006. After the wedding, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following BCT, Seth was assigned to the 2nd Airlift Squadron located at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, NC. Mr. Hendrix was deployed with his unit to support Operation Iraqi Freedom in January 2006. During his tour he earned several decorations, which included the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star. His unit was also awarded the Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Meritorious Award. Seth and his unit returned from Iraq on August 10th, 2007.
