Justin Lee Evans Published Aug 15, 2016 at 04:14PM May 17, 1988 - Aug. 8, 2016 Justin Lee Evans quietly passed away August 8, 2016, in Redmond, Oregon. Justin was born May 17, 1988, at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, OR. Justin was a kind-spirited, gentle giant who was loyal to his country, family and friends. As a young boy, Justin was active in the Culver community; lettering in football, playing basketball and participating in 4-H. His greatest love was competing in USA amateur boxing. His hard work and dedication to training paid off with him winning the USA State of Oregon Heavy weight Championship in 2009, defeating a national champion en route to the title. Justin graduated from Culver High School in 2006 and later received his associates degree in criminal justice from COCC. Justin loved spending time with family, camping and wakeboarding on Central Oregon lakes. Justin proudly spent eight years in the Oregon National Guard serving his country. Justin is survived by his father and stepmother, Kenneth Mark Evans and Sonya Littledeer-Evans; his mother, Laurie Ann Miller-Gilles; sister, Jamie (Evans) Cruz; paternal grandmother, Marlene Ann Evans; maternal grandmother, Vicki Matlock; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Justin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Stub Evans, and his maternal grandfathers, Hank Matlock and John Miller. Services will be held on August 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Living Hope Christian Center in Madras, OR. Flower arrangement gifts may be made through Garden Gate Flowers in Madras, OR.
