Daniel was a Black Hawk crew chief out of Ft Drum, and served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He had just gotten discharged from the Army three days before his life was cut short in a motor vehicle accident. He was killed by a drunk driver.

Update: Man Killed In Crash ID'ed
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies have released the name of a man killed early Saturday in a crash outside of Watertown.
Deputies said Daniel G. Boyd, 24, of Shady Cove, Oregon was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Cameron Brown of Carthage. The picture above is from Boyd's Facebook page.
Brown was charged with vehicular manslaughter.
What follows is our report from Saturday...
One man is dead and another faces a vehicular manslaughter charge after an accident early Saturday morning.
The man died when the SUV he was riding in veered off county route 63 in the Town of Hounsfield, hit a tree and flipped over. The man's identity was not released Saturday afternoon by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies, who were in the process of notifying his family.
The accident happened at 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
The driver of the vehicle, Cameron P. Brown, 24, of Carthage, had a blood alcohol content of .16 - twice the legal limit for intoxication - according to deputies.
Brown was charged with vehicular manslaughter in the 2nd degree, driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable and prudent, and moving from lane unsafely. Brown was arraigned in Town of Hounsfield Court and held at the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.
Brown was treated for minor injuries at Samaritan Medical Center.
The Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Town of Watertown Ambulance, Sackets Harbor Ambulance, Sackets Harbor Fire, Adams Fire, City of Watertown Police, New York State Police, and Jefferson County Chief Assistant District Attorney Kristyna Mills
