Age Military Rank Unit/Location
31 Marine Sgt

Died due to a non-hostile related incident in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

Farrar died on his 31st birthday after running into a high-voltage line Jan. 28, 2005, while searching for insurgents. He was near the end of his rotation in Iraq, and was planning to head home to his wife -- Melissa, his high-school sweetheart from Weymouth -- and two children in North Carolina. Relatives said he was devoted to the Marines, but was looking forward to a break after months of duty in Iraq.
