Robert D. Roberts was my friend. We called him Bob Bob.. He was not stationed in Hanau. He was in Buedingen with me in Armstrong Kaserne. He was in 3rd Platoon "3rd world order" Blue Platoon. He often talked about his son Jacob. I see his face in good dreams, his broken lifeless body in nightmares. I am a better man for having known him. Thank you for your site.

The day she learned of her husband's death in Iraq, Jill Roberts received three cards from him. In one, he told his 3-year-old son Jacob to "take care of Mommy until Daddy gets home." Robert D. Roberts of Winter Park, Fla., and based in Hanau, Germany, died Nov. 22 when his vehicle was crushed by a tank in Baghdad.
