Deborah Bruns most remembers her son Cedric's sense of humor. "He reminded me of my brother, who would tease you and you'd both laugh about it." Cedric Eugene Bruns of Vancouver died May 9 in a vehicle accident in Kuwait. The 2000 Prairie High School graduate was assigned to the Marine Corps Reserve 6th Engineer Support Battalion, which was attached to the 1st Marine Division in Kuwait. He would have loved to see the coalition forces' progress in Iraq, his mother said. "He'd be very proud and feel that some great deed has been done, even with all the sacrifices," she said. Bruns liked target-shooting, fishing and "anything that had to do with cars," Deborah Bruns said, and he wanted to either be a race-car driver or an automotive engineer. "I wish he could have been buried in a Porsche," Deborah Bruns said. "He's up there driving one now, I know that." |
