From Tiffiny Comeaux 04/18/05:

Words cannot express how grateful my sons and I are for the countless and endless support of our family, friends, community, country and by all means - the military. Not only was Kurt a great father, soldier and officer for the La. Dept. of Corrections, he was a great husband. We had our times, but we always worked through them. We were together since High School. Married 5 years later in Ft. Bennings, GA when he was diagnosed with cancer while attending basic training. The military took wonderful care of him. He was cancer free. My sons have always known their daddy as a soldier. His sons were his life. The military was his home away from home. He enjoyed being in the military. Never did complaints come out of his mouth when he learned of his deployment. His goal was to complete the task at hand and come home. Unfortunately, we will not get to see his return physically. As one of my 3 sons said, "Mommy daddy is already home." There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Kurt. My time at home is my private time to think of him. To his fellow black sheep that fell along with him. Please pray for their families to continue to be strong. Our unit has come close together during this deployment. Not only were lives lost, but our guys have had several injuries. C. Co 2/156 Black sheep will forever be engraved in my heart. Stay strong, heads up, and come home to tell my sons and I stories about their father.
Sincerely and with love,
Tiffiny Comeaux

From Susan Comeaux Punch 02/20/05:

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE NAMES OF OUR FALLEN HEROES. MY BROTHER, SFC KURT COMEAUX, WAS IN MY EYES A HERO BEFORE HE EVEN LEFT FOR IRAQ. HE OVER CAME CANCER AND GOT A COLLEGE DEGREE WHILE WORKING FULL TIME AT THE STATE PROBATION AND PAROLE, BEING IN NATIONAL GUARD, AND WAS A HANDS ON FULL TIME DAD. MAY HIS MEMORY AND THE OTHER FALLEN SOLDIERS BURN BRIGHT. "LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE"
